About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Health System is hiring a PRN Certified Surgical Technologist for its Nampa OB Department. This part-time, benefited position works nights as needed and may include weekdays, weekends, or holidays. The role supports surgical procedures and provides direct patient care and administrative support within the maternity unit. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the CST assists with cesarean sections by preparing and setting up procedures for physicians and surgical staff. Most of the role focuses on supporting Maternity Center patients and unit operations, including patient rooming, chart setup, vital signs, newborn baths, stocking, and work as a Unit Clerk and Certified Nursing Assistant. Requirements

Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTSA or as a Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) through NCCT is required.
Basic Life Support certification for healthcare providers from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire.

Responsibilities

Assist with cesarean sections by setting up and preparing surgical procedures for physicians and surgical staff under a Registered Nurse’s supervision.
Support and communicate directly with surgical teams and supervisory staff.
Room patients and set up charts.
Help take patient vital signs.
Give newborn baths.
Help stock the unit.
Perform Unit Clerk and Certified Nursing Assistant functions to support patient care.
