About The Position

This role is for a Certified Surgical Technologist specializing in Joint Replacement at Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown in Nashville, TN. The position is PRN (as needed) and involves working in the Operating Room. The impact you'll make includes acting as the "right hand" to surgeons by anticipating their needs with instruments and supplies, ensuring patient safety and dignity through precision positioning and meticulous draping, and maintaining the accuracy of the sterile field with organized workflows and meticulous counts from incision to closure.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.
High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Act as the "right hand" to surgeons by anticipating every move, ensuring the exact instrument or supply is ready before it’s even requested.
Ensure patient safety, dignity, and clinical excellence at every stage of the procedure through precision positioning and meticulous draping.
Take ownership of the sterile field with masterfully organized workflows.
Maintain 100% accuracy in instrument and sponge counts, serving as the final word in patient safety from incision to closure.
