About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) functions in a scrub role for operative and other invasive procedures including establishing and maintaining a sterile field, specimen handling, counts, medications/solutions, implants and instrument processing and may assist with circulating duties, as well as, participate in activities related to standards and quality improvement for the specialty and the department. This position would be in Endoscopy.

Requirements

Active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
Proficiency in one-on-one demonstration of sterile technique.
Proficiency in selected specialty and competent in two (2) or more specialties.
BLS certified prior to start date.

Responsibilities

Functions in a scrub role for operative and other invasive procedures.
Establishes and maintains a sterile field.
Handles specimens.
Performs counts.
Manages medications/solutions and implants.
Processes instruments.
May assist with circulating duties.
Participates in activities related to standards and quality improvement for the specialty and the department.
