About The Position

Responsible for maintaining the sterile field in the operating room, being constantly vigilant to see that proper aseptic techniques are utilized to prevent contamination and infection. Required to assist the surgical team as the sterile member who passes instruments, sutures, and sponges during complex vascular, cardiovascular, and cardiothoracic procedures. To include open heart procedures. Assists with prompt turnover of surgical cases, case setup and proper care of surgical instruments and equipment. Performs delegated patient care duties.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or Surgical Tech program
2-3 years as a CVOR Certified Surgical Tech
Certification from an accredited Surgical Tech Program
Current Montana Nursing License (LPN only)
BLS or obtain within 6 months of hire
Basic medical terminology and anatomy, asepsis, and sterile technique
Basic computer and keyboarding skills
Use of usual and customer equipment used to perform essential functions of the position
Passing a pre-employment screening, which includes: Criminal background check, Drug Screening, Health and Immunizations Screening

Nice To Haves

1-2 years of experience as a Certified Surgical Tech in other specialties (General, Ortho, Urology, ENT, GYN, etc.)
