About The Position

As our Surgical Technologist, you will help our surgical team and patients by providing critical technical support during surgical procedures so they can achieve optimal patient outcomes and ensure smooth, safe operations within the perioperative environment. This role is essential for delivering quality surgical care across various patient populations.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months of experience in an acute care Surgery Department and be able to perform as the scrub personnel in all specialties.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
• American Heart Association BLS Certification (BLS-CPR)

Nice To Haves

• Completion of Operating Room Technician Training Course preferred.
• Candidates with military surgical tech experience are also highly valued.
• A strong understanding of medical center policies and procedures, coupled with excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain professional camaraderie, are essential.
• Proficiency in handling heavy equipment and a proactive approach to problem-solving will ensure your success in this rewarding healthcare career opportunity.
• Six months experience may substituted if the candidate has completed an ORT externship on-site within the last year.
• If operational conditions permit, training a candidate without the required experience may be considered, but must be a recent Graduate from an or Tech Program and certified.
• If Military trained, in lieu of ORT Certification/NCCT, a minimum of 10 years of Military Surgical Tech Experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a skilled Scrub Technician, proficiently handling surgical instruments and equipment.
• Safely operate and maintain a wide array of specialized surgical tools, including CUSA Neuro Suction Irrigator, microscopes, power equipment (drills, saws), autoclaves, and instrument washers, in strict accordance with manufacturer instructions and Medical Center policy.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the scrub technician role and provide assistance to nursing and attendant personnel during surgical procedures.
• Safely and competently prepare, inspect, and operate complex medical equipment (such as microscopes, power tools, and sterilizers) in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
• Safely perform all tasks and procedures in strict compliance with medical center policies, clinical practice standards, and established safety protocols.
• Demonstrate good judgment in the utilization of resource personnel and adapt to changing environments or problem-solving needs on a daily basis.
• Deliver direct, routine patient care services to a diverse population (pediatric through geriatric) under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Follow instructions, analyze data, and manage daily tasks effectively to ensure clinical objectives and business goals are met.
