About The Position

Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together. This position is located in the Surgery Department at Texas Health Southwest. The department is a fast-paced, high-volume unit averaging 75 surgeries per day, including complex procedures like robotics, complex spine and ortho trauma, and intricate plastic surgery cases. Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth is a 222-bed full-service facility serving Tarrant County residents since 1987. It offers surgical and imaging services, a 24-hour emergency department, orthopedics and sports therapy, adult critical care, and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. The hospital has 1,100 employees, 120 volunteers, and more than 600 physicians on its medical staff. It is a Pathway to Excellence® designated hospital, a designated UnitedHealth Premium Surgical Spine specialty center, and has earned Quality Respiratory Care Recognition.

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009.
• Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, vocational nurse program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology.
• 2 Years Recent experience in a surgical service specialty (robotics, cardiovascular/hearts, orthopedics, neurology) with a minimum of 150 cases performed in that specialty.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 Upon Hire.
• CST - Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Upon Hire.
• LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire.
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively and professionally across disciplines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• A high degree of confidentiality.
• Service orientation.
