About The Position

Wellington Regional Medical Center is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician First Assist (CSTFA) for their Operating Room (OR). This is a Full-Time, 40-hour per week Day shift opportunity. Requirements

• Graduate of a surgical technology program
• Graduate of an Accredited Surgical First Assisting program
• Surgical Technician certification is required
• First Assist certification required
• 3 – 5 years of operating room experience
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical team assistance within the Operating Room and other similar settings.
• Assist the surgeon with specific intraoperative procedures beyond the scope of a Certified Surgical Tech without CSTFA education and training.
• Function interdependently with the surgeon during intraoperative procedures.
• Apply knowledge, skill, and judgment necessary to assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results.
• Provide patient care for all ages.
• Provide leadership and direction to the perioperative team during the Perioperative phase as needed.
• Does not concurrently function as the Scrub Tech.
