About The Position

Ascension Via Christi, St Francis is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech for their Cardiovascular OR specialty. This is a full-time day shift position. Associates are eligible for tuition discounts and priority placement in select healthcare programs through an academic partnership with Wichita State University. Requirements

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
• Surgical Tech credentialed from the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) by the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST)
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience scrubbing for cardiothoracic or neurosurgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-tech surgical environments by coordinating sterile instruments and specialized supplies to ensure seamless procedural flow.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by delivering precise instrumentation during complex cardiovascular and neurosurgical cases.
• Safeguard patient wellbeing by meticulously monitoring instrument counts and maintaining a sterile field throughout the entire operative journey.
• Support critical clinical outcomes by assisting surgeons with hemostasis and patient positioning to ensure optimal surgical access and safety.
