About The Position

Functions as an instrument technician, coordinating and assembling appropriate instrumentation for each individual case, passing instrumentation, appropriate medications, and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Follows the established plan of care and provides direct surgical care interventions within the scope of practice. Works under the supervision of the OR Clinical Coordinator, Director of Surgical Services and/or RN (Circulator). Collaborates with unit/hospital staff and other health professionals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an approved Surgical Technician program
  • BCLS Certification
  • Experience in OB, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Plastics, Dental, and Urology cases
  • Knowledge of surgical instrumentation - use, care, and cleaning
  • Ability to manage instruments in the variety of cases listed above
