The Certified Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for performing scanning of instrument trays for location and creation of count sheet/label, demonstrating proper assembly, wrapping/containing, and decontamination techniques for instrument trays. This role involves using automated cleaners, ultrasonic washers, and instrument washers, as well as performing tests to ensure proper operation of equipment. The technician will operate sterilizers according to manufacturer instructions and department policy, monitor procedures, and scan/deliver items to the proper storage place. Effective utilization of infection control concepts and safe handling of chemical agents are crucial. The role also includes processing and distribution of special medical emergency carts and Urology carts, assisting Service Window customers, monitoring supplies, and performing other assigned duties.
