About The Position

St. Anthony Summit Hospital is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Tech for a seasonal position. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department, thereby promoting improved quality and patient safety in the Operating Room. The position involves performing routine tasks related to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies. The technician will also be responsible for the general operation and monitoring of sterilization equipment and maintaining compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards. Additionally, the role includes maintaining certification, and monitoring, instructing, and mentoring non-certified staff. The position aims to facilitate awareness of patient safety in the OR and prepare the department for regulatory assessments.

Requirements

• Computer skills required
• CRCST or CSPDT certification required upon hire or transfer
• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required
• Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Responsibilities

• Promote improved quality and improved patient safety in the OR by ensuring the efficient flow of the Sterile Processing department.
• Perform routine tasks relating to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, equipment and sterile supplies.
• Responsible for general operating and monitoring of sterilization equipment.
• Maintain records in compliance with AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Maintains Certification, and monitors, instructs and mentors non-certified.
• Facilitate awareness and understanding around what is at stake with patients in the OR.
• Facilitate the department's preparation of staff to pass survey/regulatory assessments.

• $4,000 Seasonal Incentive
• $400/month Summit County housing stipend available for full time residents of Summit, Park, Eagle, Grand, Clear Creek or Lake Counties. Must work at least 80% physically on-site at facility in Summit County and full time or part time status (PRN ineligible). More details available upon offer.
