About The Position
The Cumberland School Department is seeking a Certified Special Educator to teach students with mild/moderate or severe and profound disabilities during their extended school year (ESY) program. The ESY program runs from July 6, 2026, through August 6, 2026, with no classes on Fridays. The educator will be supported by teacher assistants, therapists, and an on-site ESY coordinator. Responsibilities include implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), writing summer progress reports, and developing lessons.
Requirements
- Possess Rhode Island certification or have submitted a complete certification file to RIDE prior to the start of the ESY program.
