About The Position

Harbor Behavioral Health is hiring part-time Certified Social Workers for its Lexington Therapeutic Rehabilitation Program, primarily to cover weekend shifts. The organization provides structured, team-based services to adults with serious mental health needs and uses a collaborative, recovery-focused model pairing licensed clinical staff with Peer Support Specialists.

Each shift begins with a morning team meeting. The Group Therapist leads the day's group and completes the clinical notes that day; a Peer Support Specialist usually works alongside the therapist and starts the notes. An LCSW co-signs the notes. With supervision, the therapist takes on assessments and treatment plans for clients in their groups over time. Required Board supervision is provided by an LCSW at no cost and during paid hours. There is no on-call duty or productivity quota.

The position is on site at the Lexington program, mostly Saturdays and Sundays, with weekday fill-in shifts when a full-time clinician is unavailable or a group is added. Shifts are set in writing before each month and the organization asks before adding a shift. The Kentucky Board counts supervised hours toward LCSW licensure only in weeks when the employee works at least 20 hours. Optional coverage is also available at the Hopkinsville program, with travel compensation and lodging provided as described in the posting.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Active Kentucky Certified Social Worker (CSW) license, maintained in good standing throughout employment.
• Before starting, obtain Kentucky Board of Social Work approval of a supervision contract with a Board-approved LCSW.
• Intermediate to proficient ability to use AI tools in daily work, such as drafting, organizing, summarizing, and streamlining workflows.
• Strong clinical judgment, assessment, and documentation skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary team.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Successful completion of HBH pre-employment requirements, including background, registry, and federal exclusion checks; drug and health screenings; license and education verification; and reference checks.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with adults with serious mental illness.
• Familiarity with Kentucky Medicaid documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day's therapeutic group following the morning team meeting.
• Complete clinical notes on the same day as the group; notes are co-signed by an LCSW.
• Over time and under supervision, complete assessments and treatment plans for clients in the therapist's groups.
• Collaborate with Peer Support Specialists and the interdisciplinary team.
• Work scheduled weekend shifts and weekday fill-in shifts as arranged.

Benefits

• Starting pay of $35 per hour, increasing to $37.50 at 6 months and $40 at 18 months; the same rate applies on weekends and weekdays.
• $3,000 bonus: $1,500 after the 10th shift and $1,500 after the 30th shift, with no repayment required.
• Optional Hopkinsville coverage pays $50 per hour, including drive time, plus mileage and a place to stay.
• Required Board supervision from an LCSW is provided at no cost and during paid hours.
