About The Position

This position involves instructing students in one or more subjects, including preparing lesson plans, administering and grading tests, and maintaining classroom discipline, records, and files. Additionally, the role includes analyzing performance and instructing student athletes in game strategies and techniques for athletic competition, specifically as an Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach and other sports for the School Year 2026-2027.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university
• Must possess a valid state teaching certificate in the area of subjects taught
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
• Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care
• Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment
• If performing duties of a Coach or Assistant Coach: May be required to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with air breaks and passenger endorsement and a bus driving certificate
• If performing duties of a Coach or Assistant Coach: Must complete and maintain all certifications and trainings that are required by OSSAA (Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association) and Sequoyah High School
