Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach
About The Position
Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the program. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of five years of high school and/or college-level coaching experience, along with a demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with young men while fostering their growth on the court. This role includes helping to build a positive, inclusive, and student-centered culture aligned with the mission of Walsh Jesuit while promoting teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of high school and/or college-level coaching experience
- Demonstrated ability to build meaningful relationships with young men

Nice To Haves
- Ability to develop student-athletes both athletically and personally in a faith-based educational environment
- Excellent communication and planning skills
- Familiarity with OHSAA rules and regulations
Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and conducting practices
- Teach and reinforce fundamentals, skills, and techniques
- Provide small group and individual instruction
- Support game strategy
- Work under the direction of the Head Coach
- Build positive relationships with student-athletes
- Reinforce team expectations, culture, and sportsmanship
- Assist with tryouts and athlete evaluations
- Support eligibility tracking, equipment, and program logistics
- Contribute to off-season training
- Communicate regularly with the Head Coach
- Provide feedback to athletes
- Maintain professional interactions with parents and staff
