About The Position

Paterson Public Schools is seeking a Certified School Nurse to provide nursing care in a school setting. Applicants must meet New Jersey requirements for school nurses and have applicable nursing experience. The role also requires effective communication with staff, students, parents, and the community, along with strong interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills. The Superintendent may accept alternatives to the stated qualifications. The position is pending budget availability. Postings remain open for ten consecutive days after the posting date or until filled. Requirements

• Registered Professional Nurse licensed by the Division of Consumer Affairs in New Jersey.
• NJ Department of Education Standard Instructional School Nurse Certificate, or enrollment in an Instructional School Nurse Certificate Program.
• Meet at minimum the New Jersey State/Department of Education requirements for School Nurse Emergency Certification.
• Valid Health Care Provider and Professional Rescuer CPR/AED certification.
• Applicable nursing experience related to delivering nursing care in a school setting.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to use electronic tools for Google Classroom, word processing, data management, information retrieval, and visual and audio presentations.
• Excellent integrity, good moral character, and initiative.
• Provide three letters of reference from current or former employers or other professional sources and/or copies of recent evaluations from when school nursing services and teaching were performed.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community.
