Certified Respiratory Therapist - CRT
About The Position
The Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), identified in the responsibilities as RCP I, performs physician-ordered respiratory therapeutic and pulmonary diagnostic procedures under the direction and authorization of the medical director and cardiopulmonary director/manager. The role emphasizes assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care while considering age- and population-specific needs. In the absence of a supervisor, the therapist may be assigned as Lead RCP and be responsible for the section or department during the shift. The position is a temporary, full-time night role at Resurrection Medical Center in Illinois, scheduled for 36 hours per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with rotating weekends required. Compensation is listed at $50 per hour.
Requirements
- Current State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC); individuals hired before March 2026 are exempt.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) upon hire, maintained as current.
- Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA or ARC within 60 days of hire, maintained as current.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA within 60 days of hire, maintained as current.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program certificate upon hire, maintained as current, or obtained within 60 days of hire.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of acute care experience.

- Associate degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
