About The Position

The CRNA is directly responsible for the administration of anesthesia to surgical patients while doing pre-operative evaluations and selecting appropriate anesthetics. Assures proper administration of anesthetic while monitoring patient during the course of surgery, as well as follows the patient postoperatively. The CRNA will collaborate effectively with surgeons, medical staff, surgery staff and administration.

Requirements

Graduate from an approved school of nursing
Current state licensure as a registered nurse
Graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor
Successfully completed the certification examination administered by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists or its predecessor
Proof of current licensure as a Registered Nurse
Proof of current licensure as an Advanced Practice Nurse
Active practice as a CRNA
Appropriate continuing education to maintain licensure
Compliance with state requirements regulating the advanced practice of nursing
DEA Registration
Iowa Controlled Substances Certificate
Basic computer skills
