About The Position
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist administers anesthesia and anesthesia-related care. The work encompasses pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation; anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence; post-anesthesia care; and perianesthetic and clinical support functions.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Education Program with a master’s degree in a related field; or graduation before January 1998 from a program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs.
- Have sufficient sensory capacity to observe patients and patient monitors.
- Communicate effectively in academic and health care settings.
- Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Work effectively in teams.
- Demonstrate good judgment and the ability to function effectively amid uncertainties inherent in clinical practice.
- Successfully obtain ancillary privileges granted by the University Hospital Medical Staff upon hire.
