About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This role is responsible for the administration of anesthesia. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) administers anesthesia or sedation to patients undergoing a variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures. They develop and conduct pre-anesthetic plans for patients, write orders appropriately before, after, and during procedures, and collaborate with other providers caring for the patient. Communication with patients, family members, and the health care team is essential. The CRNA evaluates and orders diagnostic tests as needed, monitors patients using current techniques (including hemodynamic monitoring) to adjust the anesthesia plan, and possesses the ability to work with the growth and development needs of all client populations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree required from an approved and accredited educational program in specific area of advanced practice.
  • Requires current unencumbered licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the State Board of Nursing in the state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position.
  • CRNA certification required and maintained through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) preferred.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
