The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) safely provides anesthesia to surgical patients for a variety of operations and/or procedures. The CRNA provides pain medication and anesthesia care for patients before, during, and after surgery. They administer medications to keep patients asleep or pain-free during procedures and monitor the biological functions of the patients for safe and effective outcomes. The CRNA will consult and collaborate with the entire surgical care and interdisciplinary team for patient care planning. The CRNA is responsible for routine maintenance and cleaning of anesthesia equipment.
