About The Position

We have a new opening for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - CRNA at Nellis Air Force Base in North Las Vegas, NV. Duties: Independently (without physician supervision) manage patient anesthesia experience, perform preoperative evaluations and preparations, administer monitored anesthesia care, regional, general and neuraxial anesthesia, monitor and manage patient reactions anesthesia and surgery, manage fluid therapy, perform and manage invasive monitoring, and perform post-operative evaluations as privileged by the facility Credentials Committee. This note shall include any previous anesthetic experiences and complications thereof noted in the medical record. Maintain the patient's physiologic homeostasis and corrects abnormal responses to the anesthesia and/or surgery. Collect and interpret patient physiological data by selecting, applying or inserting noninvasive monitoring modalities. Employee shall present a professional, conservative, and neat appearance. Contractor personnel shall report for duty in a professional manner, in appropriate attire befitting a health care setting, and having complied with socially acceptable standards of personal hygiene expected of health care workers. The employee will arrive to the start of the duty day earlier enough to prepare for the 1st case start to be on time (ex. in the OR room at 7:30am); and be flexible to be relieved or complete with the duty day within 15 mins before or after 3:00pm (or 5:00pm if on a 4-day /10-hour shift schedule). The employee shall ensure that all contract employees participate in the facility orientation procedures for newly assigned medical employees to include regulations specific to their professional specialty, hospital and facility policy and procedures. Contract employee training will include any in-processing and out processing, MHS Genesis, Joint Legacy Viewer, or job specific data training as required by the 99th Medical Group. The employee will abide by medical staff bylaws upon acceptance of of privileges.

Requirements

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in nursing.
  • Graduate from an academic program approved by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs (COA).
  • Minimum 2 years of active practice as a CRNA, current within the last 6 months of application.
  • Practice must have included cases specifically in General Anesthesia and Obstetric (Neuraxial) Anesthesia.
  • Current, full, active and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse and CRNA license from any state.
  • Current Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the National Board for Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
  • Current state (any state in the U.S.) Registered Nursing (RN) License and CRNA License.
  • Current BLS/ACLS/ALS/PALS certifications through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate.
  • Current Advance Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certificate.
  • Ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
  • Submit to a background check and pre-employment drug test.

  • Experience with MHS Genesis, Joint Legacy Viewer, or job specific data training as required by the 99th Medical Group.

  • Participate in facility orientation procedures for newly assigned medical employees.
  • Participate in job-specific data training as required.
