About The Position

The Certified Psychometrist is responsible for the standardized administration and scoring of psychological and neuropsychological assessments under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist or clinical neuropsychologist. As a certified professional, this role requires adherence to professional ethical guidelines and demonstrated expertise in psychometric procedures. The Certified Psychometrist will provide detailed behavioral observations and ensure high standards of data quality to support diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning.

Requirements

  • Current certification as a Certified Specialist in Psychometry (CSP) or equivalent credential from the Board of Certified Psychometrists (BCP) or American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) (required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in psychology (preferred)
  • Minimum of two years of experience administering neuropsychological assessments (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Administer and score standardized psychological and neuropsychological test batteries across a wide range of cognitive, behavioral, and academic domains
  • Adhere to ethical guidelines for test security, administration, and patient confidentiality as set by BCP or similar certifying bodies
  • Provide comprehensive and systematic behavioral observations during testing sessions to assist the supervising psychologist in interpretation
  • Assist in test selection based on the patient's developmental level and clinical needs
  • Troubleshoot and adapt testing protocols to ensure valid data collection while maintaining standardization
  • Ensure timely completion of assessments and documentation, with responsibilities varying based on clinical settings (e.g. inpatient, outpatient, or specialty care).
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and communicate assessment progress to supervising clinicians.
  • Write clinical progress notes and scoring summaries in electronic medical records
  • Train and mentor entry-level psychometrists, interns, and fellows on testing protocols and professional standards
  • Participate in departmental training sessions and continuing education to maintain certification
  • Support clinical research initiatives and data collection projects, where applicable
  • Demonstrate age-appropriate assessment skills for populations ranging from pediatric to geriatric
