About The Position

Virginia Western Community College, a two-year public institution, is seeking part-time Certified Phlebotomy Tech Instructors for its School of Career and Corporate Training department. This role involves teaching students in both classroom and lab settings to prepare them for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) credentialing exam. The college is located in Roanoke, VA, and serves a region including Roanoke, Salem, Roanoke County, Craig County, Franklin County, and southern Botetourt County. The department was formerly known as Workforce Development. Classes are scheduled for weekday evenings and/or weekends, with potential for remote work. Adjunct faculty positions are on an as-needed, course-by-course basis.

Requirements

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician.
• Ability to teach students in both classroom and lab settings.
• Proficiency in delivering established course curriculum.
• Knowledge of lab safety.
• Skills in student monitoring and knowledge transfer for certification preparation.
• Ability to troubleshoot classroom technical issues.
• Capability to track equipment usage and inventory.
• Skills in assessing students for content mastery and skills proficiency.
• Ability to maintain student attendance and grades.
• Potential for remote work as needed.
