Founded in 1961, Dignity Health - Arroyo Grande Community Hospital is a 65-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Arroyo Grande, California. As our Phlebotomist, you will be obtaining blood, urine, and culture specimens from patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, according to established procedures of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and State and Federal Regulations. Performs clerical functions and routine repetitive specimen testing under direct supervision of a licensed technologist. Every day you will perform clerical functions and routine repetitive specimen testing under direct supervision of a licensed technologist. To be successful in this role, you must be able to properly handle patient specimens as to the guidelines specified in the phlebotomy manual and our reference manuals.
Requirements
- State of California Phlebotomy Certificate (CT PHLEBOT)
- Current and valid CPR-AHA certification (CT CPRBLS)
Responsibilities
- Obtaining blood, urine, and culture specimens from patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatric, according to established procedures of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital and State and Federal Regulations.
- Performing clerical functions and routine repetitive specimen testing under direct supervision of a licensed technologist.
- Properly handling patient specimens according to the guidelines specified in the phlebotomy manual and reference manuals.
