About The Position

This role involves collecting patient specimens, including urine, blood, and oral specimens, in a physician's office. The position requires interacting with patients daily, completing requisition forms, ensuring specimen integrity, and obtaining necessary patient information. Responsibilities also include entering patient data into the laboratory system, requesting missing information from medical staff, managing Hepatitis C referrals, and documenting lab results in patient charts. General office tasks may also be required.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Strong attention to detail and high professional standards
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques/equipment to perform specimen collections
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to interpret written instructions
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Data entry experience
  • Ability to multi-task with ease
  • Customer service experience
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Experience with personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Certified Phlebotomist Certificate required

Responsibilities

  • Collecting patient specimens in the physician’s office, including urine, blood, and oral specimens
  • Interacting daily with patients
  • Completing requisition forms for specimen testing
  • Ensuring integrity of the specimen
  • Obtaining accompanying patient information
  • Entering patient information into the laboratory system
  • Requesting missing patient information from medical staff at the physician’s office
  • Hepatitis C Referrals (including obtaining appointment information)
  • Correctly documenting any HCG or other lab results in the patient’s chart
  • Other general office tasks as necessary
