About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Certified Pharmacy Technician supports the daily operations of the pharmacy in accordance with established policies and guidelines. The technician works under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and may work independently, but does not provide direct patient care. The role is located at Cleveland Fairhill and is full-time, with compensation of $20–$26 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Nice To Haves

Current Pharmacy Technician Certification, unless required by the state.

Responsibilities

Complete pharmacy tasks and services and support the daily operation of the pharmacy in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
Work under the direction of a licensed pharmacist and work independently as appropriate; do not provide direct patient care.
Pick up drug orders at nursing stations and prepare medications under the supervision of the pharmacist on shift.
Deliver appropriate medication quantities to the correct patient areas.
Assist with accurate billing and crediting of patient medications.
Maintain pharmacy drugs in accordance with the Drug Formulary, including ordering, receiving, storing, and completing necessary paperwork.
Monitor doses administered according to the Medication Administration Record on the narcotics sign-out record.
Maintain forms and reports necessary for control of narcotics and other controlled substances.
