About The Position

As a certified pharmacy technician, prepares, compounds, and dispenses medical orders and prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. The role involves customer communication, inventory maintenance, and related clerical and pharmacy duties. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function. The technician must be competent to meet the age-specific needs of the patients served.

Requirements

• Must have a Certified Pharmacy Technician license with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy.
• Must have at least one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Demonstrated ability to use computer skills, including keyboarding and practical data entry into database software programs.
• BLS required. Current AHA Healthcare Provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver, or KH BLS during General Orientation.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 25 lbs.
• Must be able to maintain a standing position.
• Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, compound, and dispense medical orders and prescriptions under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist.
• Perform clerical duties relating to the department as needed.
• Receive and store incoming supplies.
• Verify stock and enter data into a computer to maintain inventory records.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Meet the age-specific needs of patients served.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
