About The Position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy services within the Inpatient Pharmacy. This role also involves training and overseeing Pharmacy Technicians I & II. The position requires proficiency in all aspects of inpatient pharmacy operations, including compounding Pediatric IV and Chemo IV preparations, and maintaining competency in all inpatient pharmacy areas. Technicians must pass specific competency exams for the IV room, USP 797, Hazardous Drugs, and Pediatrics before working in the IV room.

Requirements

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy.
• Must have national certification (CPT) from Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (exCPT).
• Requires minimum of four years of related experience.
• Requires excellent interpersonal skills, telephone communications skills and pharmaceutical calculation skills.
• Must be able to compound Pediatric IV, Chemo IV.
• Must pass IV Room Competency exam (minimum passing score of 90%).
• Must pass USP 797 Competency exam (minimum passing score of 85%).
• Must pass Hazardous Drug Competency exam (minimum 90%).
• Must pass Pediatric Competency exam (90%).

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
