Certified Pharmacy Technician III - Inpatient, Full Time
About The Position
The Certified Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-focused pharmacy services within the inpatient setting. This role also involves providing training and oversight for Pharmacy Technicians I and II. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree being preferred. Candidates must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the MA Board of Pharmacy and hold national certification (CPT) from either the Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) or Exam of Certified Pharmacy Techs (exCPT). A minimum of four years of related experience is required. The role demands excellent interpersonal, telephone communication, and pharmaceutical calculation skills. Technicians must be proficient in all aspects of inpatient pharmacy operations, including compounding Pediatric IV and Chemo IV. Specific competencies must be achieved before working in the IV room, including passing exams for IV Room Competency (90%), USP 797 Competency (85%), Hazardous Drug Competency (90%), and Pediatric Competency (90%).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
