About The Position
Pharmacy Tech II is a certified pharmacy technician position that supports pharmacy services by assembling and participating in the distribution of medications. Under direct supervision, the technician assists the department’s professional staff with ordering, receiving, storage, distribution, and monitoring of medication use. This is an inpatient pharmacy role working 7 days on and 7 days off, with 11-hour shifts from 8:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. A 15% shift differential applies. The employee works weekends and holidays that fall during the 7-on weeks.
Requirements
- National certification as a pharmacy technician from a nationally recognized certification board.
- Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy for Kentucky hospitals. New registrants must register within 30 days of hire; previously registered candidates must have registration upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and participate in the distribution of medications.
- Assist professional staff with ordering, receiving, and storing medications.
- Assist with medication distribution and monitoring medication use.
