About The Position

Telecare has over 300 Peer roles and is committed to growing its Peer Workforce, valuing lived experience. They offer a career ladder specific to their Peer Workforce. Peer Support Specialists engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served to assist them in exploring and achieving their recovery goals. They provide consultation to the team to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture, ensuring each member's viewpoint and preferences are respected and integrated into services and self-help programming. Additionally, Peer Support Specialists respond to critical situations using high-level engagement and de-escalation skills to support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing a mental health/addiction emergency. Shifts available are Full-Time, with AM/PM shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The expected starting wage range is $15.15 - $17.52, with geographic differentials applied. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Peer Certification must be maintained throughout employment within 90 days after date of hire.
  • Arizona: obtain Peer and Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) certification through AHCCCS prior to hire date and maintained throughout employment.
  • Experience as a beneficiary of the Behavioral Health system of care
  • Valid and current driver’s license, and personal vehicle insurance with your name listed as a driver.
  • Willingness to use your personal vehicle to drive clients to appointments and groups, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Engage, inspire, and facilitate meaningful conversations with members served that assist the person to explore, create, and meet their own recovery goals.
  • Provide consultation to the team to promote and reinforce Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by the Telecare Recovery Centered Clinical System (RCCS).
  • Respond to critical situations with high level engagement and de-escalation skills which support a least restrictive environment for individuals experiencing an emergency related to a mental health/addiction challenge.
