About The Position

Resources for Human Development (RHD) is seeking a compassionate, recovery-focused Certified Peer Specialist to work with its Community Transitional Recovery Program (CTRP). CTRP is a short-term, community-based mental health program supporting individuals with high and complex needs as they transition from institutional or acute crisis settings back into the community. The program helps participants stabilize, build confidence and life skills, and prepare to live as independently as possible in the least restrictive environment of their choosing. The Certified Peer Specialist provides peer support, advocacy, recovery education, and encouragement. Using lived experience and recovery-focused approaches, the specialist works with participants to identify strengths, develop recovery strategies, increase independence, and build the supports needed for community living. The role also involves coordinating with participants, clinical and program staff, and the treatment team; facilitating or supporting recovery groups; and completing required documentation. The schedule is based on program needs, and flexibility may be required to support participants through recovery and transition.
