About The Position

This position focuses on supporting adults in a residential setting and assisting with daily living by providing social and emotional support. Staff will work closely with team members to help clients identify and achieve specific life and recovery goals within a structured, supportive community. Requirements

  • Requires current certification as Peer Recovery Supporter in accordance with OAC 5122.29.15.
  • Must be able to complete a 4 week full time orientation.
  • May be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior.
  • Official transcripts are required for all post-secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application.
  • Applicants must submit an official transcript before receiving a formal employment offer.
  • Failure to provide transcripts within five (5) business days of the request will result in disqualification from further consideration.
  • Transcripts printed from the institution’s website will not be accepted.
  • DBH reserves the right to evaluate the academic validity of the degree-granting institution.

Responsibilities

  • Assist client with clinical care and community resources by using a variety of techniques (e.g., sharing personal recovery stories when appropriate, coordinating and facilitating recovery-related groups, teaching relaxation strategies and coping skills).
  • Mentor clients in the recovery process by assisting with personal empowerment, goal setting, and achievement of goals.
  • Educates clients on the availability of peer services, advance directives, living will opportunities, and the residential rights process.
  • Provides information and assistance with the application process for residential state and community supplemental programs.
  • Participates in treatment teams, intake/discharge planning, and monitors client satisfaction.
