About The Position

Mindoula is seeking a Peer Recovery/Support Specialist, certified in Louisiana, Florida, Texas, Indiana, or Washington, to provide remote support to members in Washington State. This role is 100% remote with working hours from 9 AM – 5 PM Pacific Standard Time. The ideal candidate is a caring, compassionate, and organized individual with strong problem-solving skills, a passion for helping individuals facing substance-exposed living, and has successfully participated in a recovery program. Peer Recovery/Support Specialists serve as role models, following Substance Use Disorder Program guidelines to plan care, assess client needs, complete screenings, refer clients to resources, and coordinate with various healthcare and community agencies to ensure high-quality care. Mindoula was founded on the personal experiences of its team with mental illness, aiming to fix a broken behavioral health system by focusing on the individual first, rather than their diagnoses.

Requirements

  • Certified in either Louisiana, Florida, Texas, Indiana, or Washington as a Peer Recovery Specialist or Peer Support Specialist.
  • Successfully participated in a recovery program.
  • Caring and compassionate, with a passion for helping individuals facing substance-exposed living make positive changes in their lives.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Talent for problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Identify individual member needs and document interventions based on relationships and assessments.
  • Provide support to members through a variety of settings and assist with support groups, as needed.
  • Contribute to case management meetings to ensure a team approach is delivered for each member.
  • Complete documentation for member contacts, touches, cancellations and care plans based on organizational policies.
  • Communicate professionally with members, families, physicians, community agencies, agency leadership and office staff.
  • Follow chain of command in communicating concerns or recommendations.
  • Achieve set goals/Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Represent and promote Mindoula and the Substance Use Disorder program through participation and interaction with community, professional organizations and community outreach efforts.
  • Participate in timely conflict resolution and treating people fairly and with respect.
  • Support all members of the team in performance of their duties.
  • Participate in any performance improvement processes and initiatives.
  • Promote responsible and ethical stewardship of Mindoula's resources.
  • Maintain excellent punctuality and attendance during work hours.
  • Partner with the enrollment team to grow the member census and identify eligible members to enroll in program.
  • Plan care, assess client needs, and complete screenings.
  • Refer clients to appropriate resources and coordinate with the Substance Use Disorder Program team, primary care providers, managed care organizations, and community agencies to provide high-quality care.
