Certified Peer Counselor – Crisis Care Center Do you enjoy working in a meaningful and mission-driven environment? Join our integrated medical team to support clients as they stabilize from a behavioral health crisis. The Certified Peer Counselor is responsible for providing support, education, and resource services to clients at the Crisis Care Center. Provides critical emotional support and guidance to clients during and after a crisis. Peer Support specialists will assist in engaging individuals in discharge planning, help navigate services and support clients in their recovery. We are hiring peers for the following shifts - Please note which day shift option you prefer: Peer Day Shift: Sun - Wednesday – (4x10s) Peer Day Shift: Wednesday - Saturday – (4x10s)

Requirements

  • One year paid or volunteer experience working in behavioral health
  • Graduation from the Washington Institute Peer Advocacy Training Program or equivalent program (Rainbow Center Peer Advocacy Training Program or similar) required.
  • Must complete the additional required HCA 40-hour Crisis Training for Peer Specialists within their first 6 month of employment.
  • Must be a Certified Peer Counselor in the State of Washington

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Crisis Center staff and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, provide follow-up after discharge, and ensure continuity of services aligned with treatment recommendations.
  • Deliver comprehensive case management services, supporting clients in accessing and maintaining housing, employment, income, medical and behavioral health care, and community-based social and recreational resources.
  • Utilize recovery-oriented and motivational approaches, including lived experience, to support client engagement, goal setting, skill-building, and development of independence in daily living, health management, and community integration.
  • Provide direct client support through individual and group services, including psychoeducation, skill development, relationship-building, and coordination with clinical providers, while fostering a positive, stigma-free, team-based environment.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation, participate in clinical consultations, support administrative functions, and complete additional duties or special projects as assigned to ensure effective program operations.
