About The Position

The Patient Care Technician assists patients with activities of daily living and with selective procedures delegated and communicated by a licensed nurse. The work focuses on maintaining a safe, hazard-free, clean environment that facilitates patient-focused care. This role is with Providence at Covenant Children's Hosp (Methodist Children's Hosp), where caregivers are part of a culture centered on patient-focused, whole-person care, understanding, commitment, mutual respect, and empowerment.

Requirements

• Combined equivalent experience and certification needed for the function and level, or equivalent education/experience.
• Current graduate of a state-approved PCT program (CPCT).
• Upon hire, National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Upon hire, one of the following certifications: National Certified Patient Care Technician from the National Association for Health Professionals; National Certified Patient Care Technician from the National Center for Competency Testing; or National Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant from the National Healthcareer Association.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of PCT experience in an acute care setting.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience.
