About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Certified Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists in a fast-paced clinical setting. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic eye testing, assist with procedures, and ensure efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience in ophthalmic diagnostic testing
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining ophthalmic equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ophthalmic Technician Certification required
Responsibilities
- Perform preliminary ophthalmic examinations for physician review
- Conduct diagnostic tests including visual field testing (central and peripheral), ocular motility, color vision, and pupil assessments
- Perform tonometry, tonography, and related ophthalmic measurements
- Obtain and document patient medical and personal history
- Coordinate patient flow and assist with scheduling tests, imaging, and procedures
- Prepare patients for examinations and surgical procedures
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment (slit lamp, keratometer, tonometer, lensometer, etc.)
- Sterilize and prepare instruments for clinical and surgical use
- Assist physicians with minor office procedures, laser treatments, and operating room support
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with clinical standards
