About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) who will be responsible for reviewing patient history, performing ophthalmic tests, documenting results, instilling medication as requested, performing equipment maintenance, and conducting refractions.

Requirements

  • Certified as a Technician (COTs) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COAs) through the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology.
  • Two years experience in a medical field.
  • CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years ophthalmology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patients general history form.
  • Performs a series of ophthalmic tests and documents results for physician review.
  • Performs additional testing as requested by the physician.
  • Instills medication upon physicians request.
  • Performs generalized maintenance, cleaning, and basic repair of equipment.
  • Must be able to perform refractions.
