About The Position

Beloit Health System at Beloit Clinic Ophthalmology is hiring for a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant. This Certified Ophthalmic Assistant position will work as part of our busy Ophthalmology Department at Beloit Clinic. In this position the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant will schedule biometries, order supplies, perform visual fields, assist in exams with providers, complete scribe duties, document and assist in department as needed. This Certified Ophthalmic Assistant will assure efficient delivery of patient care by serving as a resource and expert to staff in Ophthalmology department. This Certified Ophthalmic Assistant will provide train on all current and new equipment and electronic medical recording devices.

Requirements

Completion of accredited Ophthalmology Program, or High School Diploma with 2 years of experience.
Must complete certification within 2 years or hire.
Experience in Ophthalmology Department
Exceptional customer services skills

Responsibilities

Prepares patient medical records in preparation for appointment
Escorts patient to room and updates medical history and vitals
Prepares patient for exam by completing diagnostic procedures as directed
Assesses interior chamber depth
Assists with fundus photography and fluorescein angiography
Performs biometrics
Prepares patient for examination or procedures
Assists with patient inquiries
May act as scribe
Schedule biometries
Order supplies
Perform visual fields
Assist in exams with providers
Complete scribe duties
Document and assist in department as needed
Assure efficient delivery of patient care by serving as a resource and expert to staff in Ophthalmology department
Provide train on all current and new equipment and electronic medical recording devices
