About The Position

PARS Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join its home health team in Dayton, Texas. The role supports individuals managing physical, developmental, or cognitive challenges through personalized care intended to enhance independence and quality of life. The COTA works under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans and provides care in clients’ homes.

Requirements

Active COTA certification.
Solid understanding of occupational therapy practices and evaluation tools, such as Katz ADL and Lawton IADL scales.
Proficiency with digital documentation and therapy software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to different personalities and care environments.
Ongoing commitment to professional growth and evidence-based practice.

Experience in a home health or rehabilitation setting.

Responsibilities

Support clients in developing, recovering, and maintaining daily living and work skills.
Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
Adapt and apply therapeutic interventions to enhance safety and independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
Educate clients on breaking tasks into manageable steps and using adaptive strategies.
Recommend and train clients in the use of adaptive equipment.
Assess home environments and suggest modifications based on client needs.
Collaborate with families and caregivers, providing guidance and education.
Track and report patient progress toward treatment goals.
Accurately document care provided and maintain up-to-date records.
Conduct regular follow-ups to support continued progress.
