About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Avamere Rehab of Burien will implement and execute an established patient treatment plan under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role involves communication with patients, families, referring physicians, and other team members, as well as providing timely written documentation per facility and department requirements. The COTA will also develop and enhance clinical and professional skills, support department operations, and report any changes in patient status to the supervising therapist.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant curriculum
  • Must hold an active COTA license in the state of Washington
  • Able to practice unencunberred.
  • In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
  • Working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources
  • Full knowledge of resident’s rights
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
  • Must have an active CPR/BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Provides timely written documentation as required by insurance provider to meet licensing, certification, regulatory, reimbursement requirements
  • Supports and participates in department operations and development
  • Reports any changes in patient status or needs to supervising therapist on a timely basis
