About The Position

Post-Acute Rehab Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Home Health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) in Willis, Texas. The role helps individuals develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills while addressing physical, mental, or developmental challenges. Through personalized services and a holistic approach, the COTA supports clients in participating in everyday activities and achieving greater independence, tailoring environments to individual needs.

Requirements

• COTA certification is required.
• Proven working experience as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Excellent knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
• Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media.
• Familiarity with ADL evaluation tools such as the Katz ADL scale and Lawton IADL scale.
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
• Current knowledge of treatment practices in the discipline and a drive to continue learning and growing professionally.

Nice To Haves

• Home care or rehabilitation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Address clients’ performance needs to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being, and quality of life.
• Select and adapt occupational therapy treatment models, methods, and approaches for each case to guide interventions.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
• Teach clients new ways to approach tasks and break activities into achievable components.
• Assess clients’ homes and other environments and advise on alterations suited to their needs and capabilities.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train clients in its use.
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
• Observe, note, and report progress toward long- and short-term treatment goals.
• Collect data and document processes followed.
• Follow up regularly with clients.
