We are looking to hire a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at MercyOne, you will be under general supervision of OTR, the COTA screens, assesses, implements and provides occupational therapy treatment for patients. The COTA assists the OTR in the evaluation process. Possesses the skills necessary to provide direct patient care specific to each age group in accordance with departmental policy. The age of the patients served range in age from infants to geriatrics.

Requirements

• Certification through the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc. (NCBOT)
• Associate degree as Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program
• Licensure (or eligibility for licensure) by the State of Iowa to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision of OTR, the COTA screens, assesses, implements and provides occupational therapy treatment for patients.
• The COTA assists the OTR in the evaluation process.
• Possesses the skills necessary to provide direct patient care specific to each age group in accordance with departmental policy.
