About The Position
Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation is hiring a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant for inpatient rehabilitation in Temple, Texas. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT) and in accordance with state practice guidelines, the OTA assists with implementing therapy plans of care. The role includes directing supportive personnel for assigned patients, communicating with the supervising OT about patient needs and treatment, and participating in education for patients, families, students, coworkers, and self. The OTA may also perform other patient-care duties within the scope of practice. Compensation depends on the candidate’s years of experience and internal equity.
Requirements
- Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
- Certified BLS, or completion within the first 90 days of employment, as required by state regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist with implementing the therapy plan of care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist and in accordance with state practice guidelines.
- Delegate and direct supportive personnel for assigned patients to enhance patient care services.
- Communicate consistently with the supervising OT about scheduled patients to identify needs for assessment or reassessment, treatment-plan modifications, and other interventions requiring therapist direction.
- Participate in education of patients, families, students, coworkers, and self.
- Perform other professional duties associated with patient care within the scope of practice.
