About The Position
Santa Rosa Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our exceptional rehabilitation team. As a COTA, you'll work alongside talented Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists, nursing staff, and physicians to help patients regain independence, improve daily function, and achieve meaningful recovery goals. Requirements
- Current California Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Skilled nursing, post-acute, rehabilitation, or geriatric experience preferred
- New graduates with strong clinical rotations are encouraged to apply
- Experience with Net Health, Casamba, PointClickCare, or similar EMR systems is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative healthcare environment
- Passion for helping patients maximize independence and quality of life
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist
- Implement individualized treatment plans and physician orders
- Assist patients in improving activities of daily living (ADLs), self-care skills, upper extremity function, balance, coordination, and overall independence
- Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team
- Complete accurate and timely daily treatment documentation and progress notes
- Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary team meetings
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy programs and home exercise activities
- Maintain therapy equipment and treatment areas according to facility standards
- Support facility goals for patient outcomes, customer service, and quality care
