About The Position
LLA Therapy is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our school-based services team in Northeast Ohio. With over 30 years of experience, LLA Therapy is dedicated to helping children shine their brightest. We pride ourselves on effective communication, ongoing mentoring and support, collaboration with school personnel, and providing professionals with the necessary materials and tools to succeed. This role involves providing ongoing treatment to an assigned caseload, collaborating with a supervising Occupational Therapist, and documenting patient progress.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program from an accredited college or university.
- Current license to practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the State of Ohio.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- FBI and BCI background check (can be completed upon hire)
- Professional Liability Insurance, recommended by governing body.
- Positive and goal-oriented, willing to accept the challenge of new assignments and be able to work well with others.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on teamwork, customer service, and safe working practices.
- Must be able to handle stressful situations.
- Compatible with company culture and core values.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing treatment to assigned caseload
- Communicate and collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist
- Document, monitor, and analyze the patient’s progress and effects of treatment.
- Communicate, educate, and provide family training on the patient’s individualized treatment plans.
- Document, monitor, analyze, and report students’ progress and effects of treatment regularly in conjunction with school deadlines and procedures.
- Attend and report evaluations findings and therapy recommendations in family friendly language during IEP and ETR meetings.
- Contribute to building a positive, supportive, and learning culture through collaboration and ongoing communication between school personnel and families.
- Maintenance and documentation of ongoing therapy minutes and report due-dates.
- Complete necessary Medicaid billing in conjunction with school deadlines and procedures.
