About The Position

To provide activities to restore, maintain, or improve functional skills, and to improve students’ abilities to achieve in the classroom.

Requirements

• Currently licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant by the National Board of Certified Occupational Therapists (NBCOT)
• Meet state licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Administer occupational therapy standardized tests/procedures following demonstration of competence under the direction of the Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).
• Use activities, materials, and equipment related to occupational therapy.
• Implement the goals and recommend activities provided in the occupational therapy section of the students’ Individual Educational Plans (IEP).
• Provide documentation of students’ progress in occupational therapy programs on a regular basis, communicating data to the OTR, and completing required documentation.
• Share therapy activities with students’ teachers, families, and others involved with the students to allow programs to be continued outside the classroom.
• Utilize and maintain occupational therapy equipment to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for students and staff.
• Inventory and determine needs for equipment and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
