About The Position
Ultimate Therapy is hiring a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Autumn Lake at Arlington West in Baltimore, Maryland. The role supports skilled nursing residents in achieving practical rehabilitation goals, including completing daily routines with less assistance and using adaptive tools. The COTA provides individualized treatment under the supervising Occupational Therapist’s established plan of care and works with the rehabilitation and nursing teams to support consistent care.
Requirements
- Active Maryland Occupational Therapy Assistant license and COTA certification.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and respond attentively to residents’ changing needs.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities
- Provide individualized treatment under the supervising Occupational Therapist’s established plan of care.
- Break daily living tasks into manageable steps and help residents practice dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting.
- Lead prescribed exercises and functional activities addressing upper-extremity function, coordination, and endurance.
- Reinforce adaptive equipment use and techniques for safely completing activities while conserving energy.
- Share observations about residents’ progress, assistance needs, and treatment tolerance with the Occupational Therapist.
- Maintain accurate treatment records.
- Partner with nursing and rehabilitation colleagues to support consistent care throughout the day.
