About The Position
LTC Therapy Services is hiring a full-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Quincy, Massachusetts. The COTA helps skilled nursing residents improve daily living skills through hands-on rehabilitation guided by the supervising Occupational Therapist. The role involves carrying out treatment activities based on residents’ OT plans of care, supporting personal care and functional activities, and communicating progress and changing needs to the supervising OT. The COTA also maintains clinical records and collaborates with nursing and rehabilitation staff to reinforce treatment strategies outside therapy.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts Occupational Therapy Assistant license and COTA certification.
- Strong observation skills and attention to resident safety.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to complete timely and accurate treatment documentation.

- Skilled nursing experience is a plus; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Carry out treatment activities addressing functional goals established in residents’ OT plans of care.
- Coach residents through personal care tasks, adjusting assistance and cueing to their abilities.
- Incorporate prescribed exercises and purposeful activities to support upper-extremity function, coordination, and activity tolerance.
- Help residents practice adaptive equipment techniques and energy conservation strategies during daily routines.
- Share observations about residents’ progress, participation, and changing needs with the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Keep clinical records current.
- Work with nursing and rehabilitation staff to reinforce treatment strategies outside therapy.
